FAQs
What is Chiqui?
Chiqui is a bedtime app that helps kids navigate their big feelings through stories. Instead of picking a generic book off the shelf, you tell the app exactly how your child is feeling that night. If they are frustrated, anxious, or just bursting with energy, Chiqui creates a totally unique story to validate their mood and help them settle down for a peaceful sleep.
What age range is Chiqui best for?
The app is really built with kids between 3 and 12 years old in mind. We designed the vocabulary, the pacing, and the emotional concepts to perfectly match preschool and early elementary reading levels.
How is this different from a regular bedtime book?
We love traditional books, but they cannot adapt to whatever random struggle you might be facing on a Tuesday night. Chiqui looks at your child's personality, their mood, and the specific things they are working on, like learning to share or being brave in the dark. It creates a story that feels incredibly relevant to their day. We also include a few gentle questions at the end of each story to help you both talk through things together.
How does the app know what my child needs to hear?
It all starts when you set up their profile. You can add their interests, their little quirks, and any challenges they are currently facing. Then right before bed, you just tap the emotion they are feeling right then. The app takes all of those pieces and weaves them into a soothing adventure made just for them.
Will the stories just tell my child how to behave?
Definitely not. Kids tend to tune out the second they feel like they are being lectured. We built Chiqui with a strict rule against preachy endings. The stories will not just say that the main character learned to share and everyone was happy. Instead, your child gets to hear about a character just like them who works through a relatable challenge and finds their own inner strength.
Do I read the story, or does the app read it to them?
Chiqui is really meant to be a bonding experience, so the stories are generated as text for you to read out loud. We format the text with short paragraphs and plenty of breathing room, making it super easy for tired parents to read aloud with great pacing.
Is the AI safe and appropriate for my child?
This is something we care a lot about. While AI is dynamic, we built Chiqui with strict guardrails in place. The storytelling engine is locked to a gentle reading level and is instructed to never generate anything scary, violent, or inappropriate. Also, because the app generates stories for you to read out loud, you act as the final filter. You are always in control of the experience, and we always encourage parents to quickly scan the text as they read to make sure it aligns with their family values.
Does the app use my child's real name?
It can, but you are in complete control of how that works. You can choose to have your child star as the main character, or you can have the app invent a magical animal character who shares your child's personality. If you prefer to keep things a bit more vague, we also have a mystery hero option you can choose.

Help them understand their feelings through personalized adventures.
